The first trailer for the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie hit the web this past week and has everyone talking. It's a little early to make too many conjectures – were still not even entirely clear on the Turtles' origin at this point – be we can wish for things, right? Here the five classic Turtles characters that we want to see show up in the rebooted franchise.

Casey JonesCasey Jones

The Turtles' oldest ally, Casey Jones might as well have been the fifth Turtle. In most iterations of the Turtles, he is almost as central a character as the Turtles themselves, having a particularly strong bond with Raphael and a romantic relationship with April O'Neil. He is the first character that should be added to the rebooted film franchise.

Baxter Stockman Baxter Stockman

While the Shredder is obviously the Turtles' arch-nemesis, Baxter Stockman is next on the list. A foe the that the turtles have been dealing with since their first comic book series, Stockman creates the Mousers (which anyone who has ever play a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game will remember as the most annoying enemies ever) and, in in the 1987 cartoon, was turned into a mutant fly. And sometimes he's a cyborg. Either way, he's creepy, sociopathic, and a different kind of villain from the more physical Shredder. He'd make a good choice for a second villain.

KaraiKarai

Karai is a recurring villain in various incarnations of the Turtles. Originally, she was a high-ranking member of the Foot Clan. In later incarnations, she has a strong familial relationship with the Shredder. With the new Shredder being someone different from Oroku Saki, she could be used either way: as an adopted daughter to humanize the Shredder, or as a high ranking member of the Foot Clan organization to challenge and possibly replace the Shredder. And who doesn't want to see a big screen duel between Karai and Leonardo?

KrangKrang/The Ultroms

The Ultroms are aliens from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book series. They are the ones secretly running the Techno-Cosmic Research Institute that created the mutagen that created the Turtles. Krang was introduced in the 1987 cartoon. He was modeled after the Ultroms from the comic, but was not actually one himself. In later versions of the Turtles, Krang was rewritten to be an Ultrom. Either way, they're crazy aliens that look like brains that are looking for a way home. They might actually be in the film, since we already know that the TCRI is in it. Krang is one of the most memorable villains from the cartoon series, so putting him as the head Ultrom seems like a no-brainer (puns!).

Bebop and RocksteadyBebop and Rocksteady

Bebop and Rocksteady are shameless cash-ins. They weren't present in the original comic book series, and were only created so that the 1987 cartoon would have more mutants to make action figures out of. That said, they are unforgettable buffoons for anyone who watched the cartoon and would make great mutant henchmen for the Shredder. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" comes to theaters August 8, 2014.
