Sony Pictures is releasing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in the UK on April 16, 2014, which is more than two weeks ahead of the U.S. release date. Because of the early UK release date, Sony held their first screening in the UK today, and early reactions are already hitting Twitter. For the most part, the early Twitter reviews of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 appear to be mostly positive, but not all of them are. We've embedded some of the early reviews from Twitter below. Yes, The Amazing Spider-man 2 looks like a VFX house showreel. But there's real attention to character and emotion here. #Spiderman

In spite of a slightly shaky opening, I really enjoyed The Amazing #Spider-Man 2. Garfield and Stone are fantastic. Wonderful chemistry.

I have some major quibbles with Amazing Spider Man 2, but Andrew Garfield is terrific and the film has a great sense of humor. #SpiderMan

Still reeling at the overwhelming stinkiness of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It has a few nice shots, but to what end? To shift a few Vaios?
— Chris Blohm (@chrisblohm) April 8, 2014
Amazing Spider-man 2. Decent, but it's like the film is on steroids.

Spider-Man 2. Marc Webber pulls the legs off the re-booted franchise - slowly, painfully and without pity. #Spider-Man #Spider-Man2

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2: Terrible. Not so much a movie as a bunch of scenes, almost none of which are any good.
