Spider-Man Cinematic Universe To Include Black Cat And Spider Slayers

Both the Black Cat and Spider Slayers are coming to the Amazing Spider-Man's cinematic universe. It is already known that B.J. Novak will appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Alistair Smythe, son of Spencer Smythe – creator of the Spider Slayers – who, eventually, becomes the Ultimate Spider Slayer. We also know that Felicity Jones will be appearing as Felicia Hardy, whose alter ego is the Black Cat. When asked, by Den of Geek, if these characters' appearances in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 were hints of things to come, producer Avi Arad said, "Definitely." "Everything you see that makes you think about the comics, I think you should read into it," Arad continued. "There are no accidents," added producer Matt Tolmach. While the producers did seem to confirm that Black Cat and the Spider Slayers were in the works for future installments of the Amazing Spider-Man film franchise, they were less forthcoming with details about when fans can expect to see them. "When they'll be implemented, that's food for thought," said Arad. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2.
