Transformers: Age of Extinction

Earlier today, the newest (and likely final) trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction hit the Internet. The trailer is full of action and explosions, as anyone would expect from a Michael Bay film, but also gives us some new information that helps to piece together the plot of the upcoming film. Here's five things that we learned from the new Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer. Transformers are made of some kind of miracle metal. "A rare metal, molecularly unstable. It's what they're made of." The trailer also says that the discovery of this metal is the greatest scientific discovery since the splitting of the atom. Now we just need to know what these shady government types plan to do with the metal and how far they're willing to go to get it.

Transformers: Age of ExtinctionTransformers are being hunted.

"After all we have done, humans are hunting us." Well, it seems that shady government types are willing to hunt down sentient beings, presumably for the miracle metal they're made of. There may be other reasons as well, Transformers do tend to rack up a lot of property damage, but it seems likely that these shady government types have a shadier agenda.

"This is not war. It's human extinction." We don't know why, but it seems some aliens have decided that the human race has gone on long enough. But what will the humans do now that they've scrapped their giant robot defenders for parts?

Optimus Prime is tired of this."How many more of my kind must be sacrificed?" I guess humans hunting down Transformers has pretty much ended the honeymoon period of this relationship. Optimus Prime is sounding pretty jaded and just about over the whole humanity thing. Don't worry too much though. I'm sure a few blinks of Mark Wahlberg's eyes will win him back over to the cause. Who could resist?

Transformers: Age of ExtinctionThe Dinobots are the giant, prehistoric robot cavalry.

"We need a new army." Presumably, the Autobots' ranks have been thinned a bit by all the being hunted down and taken apart by the government and what not. So when an alien invasion comes knocking, they're going to need some new recruits. Seems that's where the Dinobots come in. Optimus prime gets to go all medieval on somebody when he pulls out a sword and shield and goes riding into melee on Grimlock's back. Maybe not the most efficient way to stop mass extinction, but it might be the most entertaining. Michael Bay returns to the Transformers franchise for a fourth outing in Transformers: Age of Extinction. The film features a brand new human cast, with Mark Wahlberg taking the lead role. In Transformers: Age of Extinction, an automobile mechanic and his daughter make a discovery that brings down the Autobots and Decepticons - and a paranoid government official - on them. Transformers: Age of Extinction comes to theaters on June 27.
