Marvel Announces Death Of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy

Following this September's month-long Death of Wolverine miniseries, Marvel Comics will release Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy, a 7-isse miniseries, running from October through December, which will examine how Logan's death reverberates through the Marvel Universe.

"Think of the Death of Wolverine as an inciting event," explains writer Charles Soule, "one thing that has seismic-level effects on the lives of a great deal of the Marvel Universe. We'll start in The Logan Legacy by examining those effects on people close to Wolverine, but over time, we'll range far and wide to see what sort of black hole Logan's death actually leaves."

Each issue will examine how Logan's death effects a different character who was close to him, be they friend or foe. The featured characters include X-23, Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, Daken and Mystique.

Each issue will also feature a different creative team, with Soule penning the first and final issues. The creative teams include many talents who are best known for working on DC Comics' Batman line, under The Logan Legacy editor Mike Marts, and are doing their very first work for Marvel Comics.

"Well, we already had Charles in place as the architect of the project;" Marts tells Marvel.com, "after that I cast out for some familiar voices—writers I worked with in my previous job on the Batman titles [for DC Comics]. Great writers like James Tynion, Tim Seeley, Kyle Higgins, Ray Fawkes and Marguerite Bennett. Each writer brings something unique to this grand tapestry we're putting together."
