Last week, a Tumblr user going by the handle Jessicafangirl found, and shared with the world, the image above, including what appears to be the first official Marvel Studios art featuring Thanos.
The character can be seen looming behind Ronan in the background of the image numbered 24.
The Mad Titan was spotted at the end of Marvel's The Avengers but hasn't been seen onscreen since. Widely expected to be the Big Bad behind Avengers 3, Thanos will play a role in Guardians of the Galaxy. As early as last year at Comic Con International, Guardians director James Gunn said that the character "will do more than just stand there and smile."
