Awards season is kicking off in Hollywood. The Golden Globes air tonight, and the Academy Awards aren’t too far away, but it wouldn’t be award season with The Golden Raspberry Awards, honoring the worst films of the year.
The official nominations for the 2017 Razzies won’t be revealed until Jan. 23, 2017, but the shortlist for consideration has been revealed. Leading the way is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is being considered in six categories, and with multiple possible nominations in the Worst Actor and Worst Supporting Actor categories.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice isn’t the only film representing the DC Extended Universe at the Razzies. Suicide Squad is being considered in five categories, though Margot Robbie’s Worst Actress consideration and Will Smith’s Worst Actor consideration both include performances in other films, The Legend of Tarzan for Robbie and Collateral Beauty for Smith.
Other major films in consideration for Razzies include Assassin’s Creed, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Gods of Egypt, Zoolander 2, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Ghostbusters, The Divergent Series: Allegiant, Independence Day: Resurgence, London Has Fallen and more.
