Fans of DC Comics' expansive world of animated properties were met with a pleasant surprise yesterday, upon hearing the news that a Batman and Harley Quinn film starring Kevin Conroy and Melissa Rauch is currently on the horizon.

And now, a first look at the project has been unveiled in a behind-the-scenes featurette, as part of the special features on Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. The nine-minute featurette is filled with interviews from the film's cast and crew, as well as several short clips from the feature.

While the featurette only unveils bits and pieces of the film's plot, it gives fans some indication of what kind of tone to expect from the film.

"They've grabbed these characters that are so established from Batman: The Animated Series," explains voice director Wes Gleason, "and found a way to spin them in this '80s roadshow that's full of action, but yet has all the comedic notes to it as they still try to save the day."

The film itself is being executive produced by Bruce Timm is based on an original story that will feature Batman, Nightwing and Harley Quinn teaming-up to take on Poison Ivy and Jason Woodrue/Plant-Master.

Loren Lester will voice Nightwing/Dick Grayson once again; Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) voices Poison Ivy; and John DiMaggio (Ben 10) is voicing Swamp Thing. Eric Bauza, Rob Paulsen, Robin Atkin Downes, Mindy Sterling, and Trevor Devall round out the voice-cast.
