Tonight's episode of Legends of Tomorrow turned into quite the family affair.

Tonight's episode opened with Amaya Jiwe/Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Nate Heywood/Steel (Nick Zano) celebrating Nate's birthday in his modern-day apartment.
After Nate left to grab food, Amaya saw a news report that probably took some Arrowverse viewers by surprise. It showed Amaya's granddaughter, Mari McCabe (Megalyn Echikunwoke), fighting crime in Detroit.
Even though Mari was only shown through news footage, her return is sure to delight some Arrowverse fans. Echikunwoke first played Mari in the Vixen animated series, which already has two CW Seed seasons under its belt. She then made her live-action debut in a season four episode of Arrow, which saw Mari helping rescue Oliver Queen/Green Arrow's (Stephen Amell) son, William.
Given what Amaya knows about Mari, actually seeing her in action is sure to have an impact on her. After Amaya spent the back half of Legends' second season contemplating her destiny, it's safe to assume those thoughts will be kicked up again by this revelation.
Legends of Tomorrow fans will just have to wait and see exactly how Mari's return impacts Amaya.
Legends of Tomorrow airs on The CW on Tuesdays at 9/8c, following new episodes of The Flash.
