We're just under a couple of weeks away from the Electronic Entertainment Expo, but Electronic Arts' EA Play event is happening even sooner, set to kick off next Saturday. And one of the games that will be a highlight for the showcase is Star Wars: Battlefront II…and now we have an idea of what will be shown.

As the company describes on its own page, the gameplay that will be shown from the forthcoming sequel actually won't be anything relating to the storyline. Instead, it'll focus on the multiplayer side of things, featuring a sequence from the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Here are the details, straight from the listing:

"Sleek N-1 Starfighters and Vulture Droids scream overhead spewing light and fire. Nimble AT-RT Walkers race around corners, pursued by roaring AATs. Agile Clone Jet Troopers hop from rooftop to rooftop, while rampaging B2 Super Battle Droids level everything in their path. Armies of Clones and Droids sprint across cover, their blazing weapons shattering the tranquility of the once-peaceful capital of Naboo. And at the center of the swirling melee the lightsabers and Darth Maul and Rey cut swaths through the ranks of the battling troopers.

Prepare for the Assault on Theed! On June 10 at 12:30 PM PT, Darth Maul and other cross-era heroes enter the battlefield in a massive multiplayer livestream gameplay event you won't want to miss. You might even become part of creating it."

The livestream will focus on a 40-player match-up, with twenty versus twenty players in this environment, taking place on Naboo. While that may not be what players were expecting to see – especially with the idea of space battles – there will be other things revealed, like the Star Wars Battlefront II Game Changers and "YouTube stars, Twitch streamers and more," who will more than likely be involved with the multiplayer session.

The game is also likely to be playable at the event, similar to how Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 were set up with last year's EA Play event. EA hasn't confirmed details for this year's set-up, but we should know soon enough.

Star Wars: Battlefront II arrives on November 17th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
