One of the biggest games to be revealed this past week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo was none other than Dragon Ball FighterZ, a game being produced by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear) and published by Bandai Namco Games. We've been very impressed by what we've seen from the game thus far…but Nintendo Switch owners have a certain question about it.

See, Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently being planned for release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, but there's no word if it's coming to Nintendo's console. Right now, nothing's in the works, but that doesn't mean it's going to stay that way.

A French gaming site named Game Blog recently spoke with the game's producer, Tomoko Hiroki, about the possibility of the game coming to Nintendo's console. He made clear that the game wasn't in the works, but it wasn't because of a lack of technical specs or power. And he pointed out that the Switch is getting a DBZ game, in the form of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, which is currently set to arrive this fall.

That said, though Hiroki didn't go into specifics as to why the game wasn't being ported, he did note that if fans did want to express their interest, there is a good possibility that the developer and publisher could consider a port to the Switch. That said, it probably wouldn't arrive at the same time as the other versions of the game, mainly due to the fact that it's been in heavy development on other platforms, but it would still release.

While Xenoverse 2 is a suitable title for the Switch – and something fans can get excited over – there's no question that FighterZ would hit the spot when it comes to 2D fighting action on the Switch. Plus, being able to play it on the go while challenging others – who wouldn't love that?

Here's hoping that sales of Xenoverse 2 pick up enough to show fan interest in a port of FighterZ. The more fighting games that system can get, the merrier.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will release in 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
