While we wait for ToeJam and Earl: Back In the Groove to make its way to consoles later this year, we've got a couple of the duo's older adventures to tide us over in the meantime on Xbox One.

Microsoft has announced the two latest additions to its Xbox One backward compatible program, and one of them is a bonafide collection of great hits featuring the hip hop alien duo from the Sega Genesis days. But the other game isn't too shabby either, especially for those that have shown appreciation to the Epic Mickey franchise.

First up is Sega Vintage Collection: Toejam & Earl, which features the first two games from the duo's Genesis days. The original Toejam & Earl is a fun exploratory adventure for one or two players, where you attempt to find parts for your ship and skedaddle off Earth before the crazy humans that dwell on it do you in. The second game, Toejam & Earl: Panic On Funkotron, is a side-scrolling adventure where you try to capture humans that are roaming free on your home planet, while at the same time collecting goodies and taking part in dance battles. Yep, dance battles. Both games are a lot of fun to play, and introduce you to the ToeJam & Earl legacy with style.

The other game is Epic Mickey 2, which was produced by Warren Spector and company years ago and didn't quite perform as well as Disney had hoped, but still remains a cult classic for some. The game features Mickey Mouse and his newfound compatriot Oswald the Lucky Rabbit as they travel across the Wasteland in the hopes of cleaning up evil, using magical paint brushes, a powerful remote and other goodies to work together. The game is well-supported with co-op, and good fun if you're looking for a game to play along with the kids or Disney fans.

It's a pretty slow week on the backward compatibility front, but these games go a long way into providing some co-op based fun. Plus, we'll never get tired of ToeJam & Earl's antics. Back In the Groove can't get here soon enough…
