If you own an Xbox One or PC, chances are you've checked out the early access version of Compulsion Games' We Happy Few, a surreal and somewhat terrifying first-person adventure where you find yourself in a not-so-ideal utopia, where the population can turn on you if you don't partake in a popular drug. The game has been a cult favorite for some time, but it's been a bit odd that the company hasn't offered an official release for it just yet.

Well, that changed this morning, as Compulsion has announced that it has teamed up with Gearbox Publishing to release We Happy Few as a full-on release. The game will finally arrive on April 13, 2018 – and, for good measure, there will be a PlayStation 4 release as well.

The game will be leaps and bounds over the Early Access version, which will be good news for those that were slightly disappointed in how it turned out. The final game will include a full storyline that will tell more of the tale behind this strange, paranoid little city, and put you in control of three different characters over the course of your adventure, though Compulsion didn't note just how they would be involved. You can also turn off the survival gameplay features if you find that it makes the game too overwhelming for its own good.

On top of the digital releases of the game, Gearbox Publishing has also confirmed that there will be a Season Pass for the game, with additional content that has yet to be revealed. There will also be a special Collector's Set for We Happy Few, which is pictured below. It features a Replica Bobby Mask, a "You Look Smashing" three-tiered lamp, an Uncle Jack alarm clock, a We Happy Few vinyl soundtrack and more. It'll be priced at $149.99, and it will be very limited in terms of supply, so you may want to keep an eye open for pre-orders.

Those who do pre-order will also receive a little bonus, with a 15 percent discount off the general version of the game, as well as a special Jolly Brolly in-game parasol weapon. And those who purchased the game via Early Access or Game Preview will get the full release at no extra cost.

So put a smile on that face. Naturally, if possible…
