Playerunknown's Battlegrounds has proven to be a colossal hit on the PC front, and it looks to do the same sort of business on Xbox One later this year. But around that time, we could very well see some new territory in which to strike out and call your own.

The game's creator, Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene, recently revealed a new map that is set to be introduced to the game, and it appears to take place in the desert – a change of pace from the current map that's available in the game. You can see the map on the official Twitter page.

Greene previously revealed that map, as well as another one, during his Gamescom presentation this week, but stopped short of confirming any sort of release date for it.

The map is a bit smaller than the one featured in the game, measuring around 4 x 4 km. As for the second map, it'll be based in the Adriatic Sea and sized double that, around 8 x 8 km.

We'll let you know when the maps are set to be released on both PC and Xbox One. For the time being, you can enjoy the Early Access version on PC now – and it's definitely worth it.
