Earlier this year, Arc System Works brought back the legendary Double Dragon franchise with an old-school touch with Double Dragon IV for PlayStation 4 and PC. And though the game didn't exactly hit as hard as, say, Double Dragon Neon, it still has a nostalgic touch that fans can enjoy. And now it's headed to a new platform.

Arc System Works announced today that Double Dragon IV will kick it onto the Nintendo Switch starting next week, on September 7th. The game will run $6.99, and will support two-player action, so you can take the game on the go, or play it at home!

"The latest work of the legendary belt scroll game 'Double Dragon' series, "In the 80's visuals, it will appear at the Nintendo Switch at last!" the company noted.

"Nintendo Switch unique TV mode that connects to the dock and plays on the big screen, It corresponds to three play styles of portable mode convenient to carry around, table mode which can be played even in places without a TV!

"Also, all modes of play can be played by two at the same time. Please pay attention to the number of stages that transferred the stage to Japan, while drawing a dot picture as the image of the old days!"

The game has an old-school 8-bit style going for it, and features a number of original programmers from the main game, including designer Koji Ogata and composer Yamane Kazuo.

Here's hoping it addresses the AI issues that hindered the PS4/PC versions of the game, and makes it the kick-ass affair that it deserves to be!
