Telltale Games has a lot going on right now, including current seasons of games like Telltale's Batman, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Minecraft: Story Mode, as well as more coming up in 2018, including the final chapter of the Walking Dead series, and the return of The Wolf Among Us. But somewhere in the mix of all these plans, fans may have noticed that there's one peculiar series that isn't included – Game of Thrones.

The publisher worked on season one of the episodic series a while back, and it was well received by fans of the show, but there hasn't been much talk about a season two just yet. And you think there would be, given the popularity of the HBO series and all that.

With that, Telltale's Job Stauffer addressed the project in a recent interview with Eurogamer, indicating that we won't be seeing the second season of the series for a while.

Said Stauffer when asked about the season, "Not long after the conclusion of the first season we said would be continuing, and we had designs on the future of Telltale's Game of Thrones. Right now that is on hold. We haven't announced it, which does not mean it's never coming but I think right now we're anxious to get back into Wolf, Walking Dead and Batman and see where things go with the narrative of the [Game of Thrones] show before we really come back to the table with something we're excited about."

The interviewer then reminded him about next year (or 2019, depending when finished) will mark the final season of the series, in which Stauffer replied, "Right now we're back into being huge Game of Thrones fans. So for us to say what will be the best follow-up to that [the first season] and when that's going to happen, is too soon to say."

So the series is definitely on their minds. It's just that they're so slammed right now, it's hard to tell just when it'll happen. Still, there are no late 2018 plans, so you never know…

The original Game of Thrones season one is available now on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC and mobile.
