Yes, the worlds of Final Fantasy and Assassin's Creed are colliding once again, as a special Assassin's Festival is just about ready to take place in the world of Final Fantasy XV.

Square Enix has released a new update for the blockbuster role-playing adventure, in which fans will be able to attend the Festival from now until January 2018. The town of Lestallum will be transformed for the event, with banners and activities to partake in.

On top of that, Noctis and company will be able to score new outfits from the festival, as well as a number of assassin abilities straight out of Assassin's Creed, including the ability to take down someone with a stealth move, Altair style. Take that, enemy!

The festival won't go live until tomorrow, but the event will be free for all, and will serve as a crossover between Square Enix and Ubisoft, and their beloved franchises. If you want to get an idea of what the Assassin's Festival is all about, you can check out the trailer above.

On top of that, players that have picked up a Dream Egg during the Moogle Chocobo Festival will be able to score some new Master Assassin's Robes for Noctis, which should be avialble once the festival goes live.

Other features have been added to the game, as noted in the patch listing below:

Version 1.14

  • Implementation of a chapter select (available after completion of the main game)
  • Addition of a bestiary (accessible from the Archives in the Main Menu)
  • Master Assassin's Robes for players with a Dream Egg (unlocks upon loading a save)
  • Opening of the Assassin's Festival (until January 31, 2018)
  • Announcement of winning snapshots from third photo contest (viewable at Mother of Pearl in Galdin Quay)
  • Various bug fixes

Final Fantasy XV is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. If you haven't checked it out already, definitely do so – as you'll be primed for Assassin's Creed Origins when it drops on October 27th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Gotta get those drop moves in!
