League of Legends Honor Capsules Have a New Drop Rate

The Honor Capsules in League of Legends now have a new drop rate as a response to players' concerns about the loot.

Since the massive honor update that revamped the way that players receive commendations during their games, a new loot reward was added to rewards League's most sportsmanlike players. However, the rate at which the Honor Capsules dropped didn't always lead to much satisfaction for honorable players.

In an effort to make the Honor Capsules feel more attainable, their drop rate has been altered. Riot Sephyre also clarified some of the specifics of the Honor Capsules by explaining how and when players can expect to receive their Capsules.

"We're adding some bad luck protection to Honor Capsules to make their drop rate more reliable," Riot Sephyre said. "We're also sharing the updated rules around drops because we found our lack of clarity disturbing."

Effective with the recent Honor Capsule update, the new drop rates and guidelines for receiving your honorable loot rewards are as follows:

• You have a chance to earn an Honor Capsule with every key fragment drop.
• Your chances for getting an Honor Capsule double each week as you play games.
• You're guaranteed an Honor Capsule within two months.
• Your drop rate resets after getting a capsule.
• You can only earn one capsule every three weeks.

With the previous system, Honor Capsules were earned at random, dropped occasionally but not at the same time that Key Fragments were. Players will now have a chance at an Honor Capsule each time they receive a Key Fragment, but there are still limitations on how many Capsules you can receive during a certain time period.

While guaranteed one every two months, you can only earn one every three weeks, a number that some players have still expressed discontent with. Dropping the reset period down to every two weeks was a suggestion, but the majority of responses simply appreciated the clarity on the subject.

The Honor Capsule update is now in effect, so expect a few more Honor Capsules to be coming your way if you maintain sportsmanlike behavior.
