Chris Avellone, one of the writers who moade Fallout: New Vegas so wonderful, unintentionally (or very, very intentionally) made waves when he changed his profile picture on his Facebook page. The picture in question is a sketch of the Vault Boy being hugged by a stick figure with the written caption "I missed you so much". One, this is adorable but most importantly 2, could this mean that Avellone is back for another Fallout?!

With the team over at Obsidian (the developers in charge of the glory that was Fallout: New Vegas) talking about how much they would love to do another Fallout title in the near future, and their recent circuit of reminiscing their previous work for the franchise, this could potentially be bigger than it looks!

The past-tense use of the word "missed" definitely hints at something more, making it seem like he no longer has a reason to miss the franchise. The ever hopeful fan in us desperately wants to believe that this respected writer is trying to give fans the hint of the century. After all, he's been behind some of the most beloved RPGs in gaming history including titles like Knights of the Old Republic II, Planescape: Torment, Fallout 2 as well as New Vegas, and many, many more. However, one critical stop makes us pause a little bit in premature excitement.

Earlier this week, Fallout celebrated its 20th anniversary and he even posted on the date to rehash his own love for the franchise. Could this profile picture simply be furthering that celebration, though posted days later? It's hard to say, but he's been known to be a little sneaky in the past so it's something to keep an eye on!

With the next Fallout title rumoured to be in New Orleans after a trademark was filed awhile ago, it's a little exciting to see if perhaps that project is still green lit? As a writer, he could also be teasing other Fallout media such as a companion novel or comic. The speculation continues and we can't wait to see what's next for the franchise we know and love.
