If you want humor in the X-Men movie universe, there's basically two places to go: Quicksilver, Evan Peters's character from X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse; and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool, obviously).

And if you ask Peters, it would be a pretty good idea to team them up.

"I would like to see a Deadpool/Quicksilver movie, I think that would be really fun," Peters told TheWrap.

Of course, the next Deadpool movie is going to feature Cable, which is a little bit of an easier sell. Instead of a buddy cop dynamic, this would be a funny guy and a straight man.

Interestingly enough, that dynamic could exist...in the comics. Deadpool on film is more or less how we've seen him for years on the printed page, but Quicksilver is typically played as a bit of a stick-in-the-mud.

Peters, asked about the possibility of a Quicksilver solo movie, said he hasn't heard anything and doesn't know when or if such a thing could happen. Certainly it probably wouldn't help much that we haven't seen the character's sister, Scarlet Witch, in the X-Men universe -- although she's in the Avengers-verse, played by Elizabeth Olsen.

In those films, ironically enough, Quicksilver was played by Peters's Kick-Ass co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

X-Men: Apocalypse is the ninth film in the X-Men franchise, and the fourth to be directed by Bryan Singer. The film features a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Olivia Munn, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Lucas Till, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy.
