The latest installment from the Marvel world of movies, Captain America: Civil War has broken yet another landmark at the box office. The Iron Man and Captain America showdown has now made over 400 Million Dollars in ticket sales according to Deadline.com.

That number, by the way, is just in the United States - according to Box office Mojo the third Captain America film has made over 746 million dollars overseas. That brings the films total gross to over one billion dollars. Try to say that without putting your pinky finger to the corner of your mouth, a la Dr. Evil.

It's unlikely that any other film will top Civil War in bucks this year. While Star Trek Beyond and Warner Brothers' Suicide Squad are sure to make the top ten for the year - it's hard to imagine that they'll do Captain America numbers. The only forseeable competition is Disney and Pixar's sequel to Finding Nemo, Finding Dory. Estimates have the sequel making over 100 million opening weekend. By comparison Captain America: Civil War made nearly 180 million when it opened back in May.

Finding Dory will likely break the animated film opening record previously held by Shrek 2 as it already broke the Thursday opening record by 3 million with a total of 9.2 million in one day. Not too bad for a little fish.

Marvel's other film this year is Doctor Strange. The Benedict Cumberland film is estimated to draw under 100 for the opening weekend and total about 715 million. Films with comic book sources and animated films are already taking over the box office list for the year as we wrote earlier this week. "In the domestic top ten grossing films, we have four films based on comic books - Captain America: Civil War with $396 million, Deadpool with $363 million, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with $330 million and X-Men: Apocalypse with $136 million. Mixed in with the super hero capes there are the animated films and one live action retelling that's almost entirely CG. The Jungle Book brought in $352 million just behind Deadpool, Zootopia with $348 million, Kung Fu Panda 3 with $143 million and finally The Angry Birds Movie at $98 million."
