The fourth season of Agents of SHIELD has wrapped filming, according to series co-showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen. Tancharoen – who happens to be married to fellow co-runner Jed Whedon — took to Instagram to post a video of the two with director Billy Gierhart, the director of the season four finale.
The video features a sunglasses-donning Whedon as he stares at Gierhart, who happens to be wearing quite the dazzling suit. The captain of the video is what spills the beans, as it reads “Last day of shooting on Season 4 (with director Billy Gierhart,)” followed by an Agents of SHIELD hashtag.
While Tancharoen and Whedon are the head honchos behind to show, Gierhart’s pedigree with Agents of SHIELD runs deep, having directed 11 episodes throughout the show’s four seasons. ‘All the Madame’s Men,’ which will feature the return of Sunil Bakshi, and the season finale — which has yet to be titled — have both been directed by Gierhart.
While the future of the show still remains uncertain as marvel has yet to announce a season five renewal, ratings have been consistent throughout the season, even improving over the past few episodes after taking a slight mid-season dip.
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
