Comanche is returning for the second season of Luke Cage.

According to Black Film, former NFL running back turned actor Thomas Q. Jones will reprise his roles as the comic book villain.

Jones' Comanche appeared in the first season of the Netflix series in flashbacks to Luke Cage's (Mike Colter) time at Seagate Prison. In prison Comanche served as corrupt prison guard Albert Rackham's enforcer alongside Shades Alvarez (Theo Rossi).

At the end of the first season Shades was out of prison and helping Mariah Dillard run Harlem's criminal underworld and according to the report, Comanche appears to be out of prison as well and could be back to running with Shades. A recent set photo shared by Black Film showed Jones alongside Rossi and Lucy Liu, who is directing the first episode of season two.

In comics, Comanche is a street thug who grew up in Harlem. He becomes a skilled archer and is often depicted as using a bow and arrow in his exploits. While it remains to be seen if Comanche will pick up the bow in the series he no doubt will cause problems for Luke Cage.

The announcement of Comanche's return to the series follows news earlier this week that Simone Missick is returning as Misty Knight along with the reveal that Misty will be sporting her bionic arm from comics.

The second season of Luke Cage is in production now and will premiere on Netflix in 2018.
