There were plenty of big events happening over the weekend in the world of sports, as both The NHL and NBA were the focus of two heated finals match-ups. However, the worlds of geeks and jocks certainly collided when Marvel Studios unveiled the trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther as part of TV coverage of the NBA Finals.

Well, needless to day, there’s been quite a big reaction to the first footage of Marvel’s first black superhero blockbuster. We’ve already seen what fans across the Internet are saying; and even what Marvel’s rivals at DC Films are saying. Now it’s time to look at how other members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe cast and creative team are saying about this new chapter in their shared cinematic Universe.

Captain America and Avengers star Chris Evans makes it clear that not only does he like Black Panther – he aims to be the first one to see it. 

The Man Behind Ant-Man

Ant-Man and Ant-Man & The Wasp director Peyton Reed is excited to see Creed director Ryan Coogler put his stamp on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spoiler: So are we! 

 

The One With Vision

The former J.A.R.V.I.S. (now known as “The Vision”) actor Paul Bettany keeps it concise, yet precise, with his assessment of the Black Panther footage.

The New Thor Lord

Directors Ryan Coogler and Taika Waititi are both helping to transform the Marvel Cinematic Universe into something more colorful and unique than we’ve ever seen before. 

That’s why it’s uniquely high praise to hear Waititi celebrating Coogler’s work when Waititi’s new take on Thor: Ragnarok has been receiving its own fair share of buzz.

Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo really is an ‘actor’s actor’ – which is why it’s not surprising to see him shining praise on the collection of fine thespians (Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Danai Gurira) that are bringing Black Panther to life. 

The New Kid

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland chose to express his reaction to the Black Panther trailer with a visual cue, rather than words. 

If anything, Holland proves why Emojis and memes are so big, now. A picture is truly worth a thousand words.

The Warrior Friend

Director Ryan Coogler worked with both Black Panther villain Michael B. Jordan and Thor: Ragnarok hero Tessa Thompson on the movie Creed, before both actors jumped into the MCU. 

While Thompson may not be joining Coogler and her old friends in Black Panther, she’s definitely showing love to her old squad.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters now. Spider-Man: Homecoming lands on July 7, 2017, followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for July 6, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
