Star Wars: The Last Jedi will premiere in theaters in the middle of the holiday season this December, providing families the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time together by shutting up and gaping in awe at some epic lightsaber battles.
The film by Rian Johnson picks up where the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off, with Rey tracking down the legendary Luke Skywalker to the isolated planet of Ahch-To, attempting to find out why he went into self-imposed exile when the galaxy needed him most.
Meanwhile, the First Order has found out the location of the Resistance’s base on D’Qar and will attempt to strike back after suffering a major military defeat with the destruction of the Starkiller Base. Poe Dameron, BB-8 Finn, and newcomer Rose will aid General Leia Organa in her attempts to stay a step ahead of Supreme Leader Snoke, all while Kylo Ren attempts to get revenge for his humiliating loss in a duel against Rey.
This is shaping up to be an epic Star Wars film and is poised to break box office records established by the previous film in the franchise.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters December 15.
