Star Wars: [SPOILER] Rumored to Attack Luke and Rey in 'The Last Jedi'

In less than two months, many of our questions about The Last Jedi will be answered, as the film will be hitting theaters. Until then, however, we will fuel the fires of speculation, with a new rumor revealing that a group of characters only briefly touched upon in The Force Awakens will set their sights on attacking Luke Skywalker on the remote island of Ahch-To.

***WARNING: Potential spoilers below for The Last Jedi***

Last week, an event was held to celebrate the film using iconic locations and landscapes in Ireland to tell its story. This press event also included showing footage from the locations, most notably a scene which appears to feature Luke being attacked by the Knights of Ren.

The Knights of Ren are an organization who acted under control of Supreme Leader Snoke, with Kylo Ren himself often leading the elite killing squad. Their brief appearance shows them clad in black, surrounding Kylo in the middle of a rainstorm, which is depicted during Rey's flashback while visiting Maz Khanata's.

The Hollywood Reporter described the video shown at the press event, saying it "showed John Boyega and Oscar Isaac, as well as Ridley and Hamill, scampering up and down Skellig’s steep hillside and shooting scenes in Oscar-winning production designer Rick Heinrichs’ breathlessly cantilevered Jedi village, which was suspended 700 feet above the surf."

Over on the message boards at StarWarsNewsNet, a user who claimed to have been in attendance at the event drew another interpretation from the footage, describing, "Kylo and the knights of Ren attack Luke and Rey on Ahch to. Seems to be a prolonged battle. Dusk into night time light. The Falcon takes heavy damage in some beauty shots over Ireland. Presumably trying to escape. Luke joins Rey in the tree and they're not alone. Both turn/look at a point while inside."

Whether this information is accurate or not is up for debate, but many members of the press who watched the footage might not have immediately recognized the Knights of Rens, having only appeared in one film for a few seconds.

Recently, the Taiwanese subtitles for the latest The Last Jedi trailer revealed that, based on gender-specific characters used in the translation, Luke was addressing a male on Ahch-To, despite audiences having only seen him interacting with Rey.

These clues come together to hint that Finn and Poe potentially head to Ahch-To in hopes of contacting Rey and Luke, only for Kylo and/or the Knights of Ren to intervene.

We'll find out for sure when The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
