'Rick And Morty' Season 3 Delivers Adult Swim's Highest Ratings Ever

Rick and Morty has officially brought Adult Swim to new heights.

Rick and Morty is now the #1 comedy on television with adults ages 18 to 24 and 18 to 34. The series just completed its third season, delivering the highest ratings in Adult Swim history.

The April Fools' Day surprise Season Three premiere livestreaming event registered 3 million unique visitors on the Adult Swim website and 43.3 million impressions and 8.7 million video views combined on Facebook.

Rick and Morty is created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland and follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. The series has become a multiplatform hit, with video game tie-ins and lots of merchandise.

These include the Rickmobile custom mobile pop-up shop, which has toured the country and made 40 stops to date. The Rickmobile has been visited by more than 60,000 fans, according to Adult Swim.

The mobile game Pocket Mortys has over 14 million downloads and Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality was the #1 most downloaded VR game on Steam at launch in April.

Rick and Morty also has top-selling apparel lines at Spencer’s and Hot Topic and a comic book series that made it onto The New York Times bestseller list and Barnes & Noble’s Best Comics and Graphic Novels list.

The Rick and Morty writers have discussed the big season finale, which wasn't what every fan expected it to be. The episode reunited Jerry with his family and made Rick the "lowest status" member of his family, but left some questions unanswered.

“Jerry is back where he belongs and happily, and everyone wants him to be there. And it’s Rick who’s out of step with the family,” Ryan Ridley said. “Now the real question of the episode is, is Beth a clone or isn’t she? Rick is repeatedly asked the answer to that question but everybody knows that Rick can’t necessarily be honest.”

Fans will have to wait for a new season to find out the truth about Beth.

Rick and Morty will return for Season Four eventually.
