Diablo 4 Update Brings Back Popular Season 1 Feature, Full Patch Notes

Diablo 4 is in the thick of its second season, meaning players are deep into their hunt to take down the vampiric presence that took over Sanctuary. However, the developers at Blizzard Entertainment aren't content to let the season play out without adding anything new. Today, the team revealed the next Diablo 4 mid-season patch and this one is a doozy. While there are a ton of requested bug fixes, the big change is that Diablo 4 is adding five new Unique class-specific rings to both Seasonal and Eternal realms. These are incredibly powerful tools that players will want to hunt down because they repurpose the popular Malignant Powers players saw during Season 1.

The new Malignant Rings are Blizzard's way of taking the most popular Malignant Powers from Season 1 and bringing them forward. Remember, seasonal content doesn't stick around, so if Blizzard wants to continue building on it, the team has to do something like this. This seems to signify that Blizzard is more than willing to bring back popular seasonal features and make them a constant part of the game. It'll be interesting to see how this affects Diablo 4's power creep, but Blizzard can always add new challenges to ensure its most dedicated players are still engaged.

Outside of the addition of Malignant Rings, the latest Diablo 4 patch fixes several issues related to the Season of Blood's new mechanics and endgame fights. That includes some changes to the Lord Zir boss fight that irons out problems players were encountering with his adds. This patch isn't as comprehensive as a full seasonal patch, but it's definitely substantial.

Below, you'll find the full patch notes for the mid-season patch. Diablo 4 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.

Malignant Rings

Five new Unique Rings have been added to the game, one for each class. These are based on popular Malignant Powers from Season of the Malignant, and are immediately available in both Seasonal and Eternal realms.

Developer's Note: Creating the Malignant Rings are a way for us to take popular Seasonal content that resonated with Players and reintroduce it in a way that can persist beyond the Season and into the Eternal realm.
