Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman Discuss Deadpool/Wolverine Movie

The topic of Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds crossing paths on the big screen while in character as their best known Wolverine and Deadpool roles, respectively, has been a hot one for the past couple of weeks. Rumors surfaced of Reynolds shooting a scene with Deadpool 2 director David Leitch for March's Logan but were quickly shot down by Logan director James Mangold, Reynolds, and Jackman.

While the two may be cooking something else up accoridng to other sources since the original rumors, Jackman and Reynolds are discussingthe possibilities and the desires to be X-characters on in the movies together.

"I would love to play Deadpool for as long as they would let me play Deadpool," Reynolds said.

As for whether or not the discussions of pairing the duo, now both R-rated, together for a film, Reynolds says the idea wheels are turning.

"We have outlines and stories for a number of different films," Reynolds said.

Jackman, however, may need a bit of convincing. After all, Logan is said to be his last time sporting Wolverine's claws after more than 15 years in the role.

"I’m hesitating,” Jackman said. "Because I could totally see how that’s the perfect fit. But the timing may be wrong.”

Reynolds, as persistent as his loudmouth character, is not giving up.

“I have no idea if I can change his mind,” Reynolds said. “It’s the audience: I would exclusively exploit that relationship to get Hugh back for another one.”

Safe to say, the audience would love to see Jackman take on the role of Wolverine at least one more time. Whether it is a full-on buddy film involving the two characters or simply a cameo by Jackman's Wolverine as Wade travels through time with Cable, the yet-to-be-cast character set to appear in Deadpool 2.
