Marvel's Disney on Ice On the Way

Feld Entertainment Inc., producers of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus and Disney on Ice, is announcing a partnership Wednesday with Marvel Entertainment to produce a live arena show featuring the Marvel universe of characters, reports the Associated Press. Feld, who have recently expanded their repertoire to include auto shows and motorsports, are trying to appeal to as broad an audience as possible, meaning that Marvel (the basis for last year's highest-grossing motion picture) brings them obvious benefits while they've got the potential to bring new eyes, especially in the case of younger fans, to the Marvel characters. "You always have those questions - how are you going to keep it from being goofy, or silly, or unbelievable?" Marvel's Quesada said, but noted that he actually finds the Feld relationship to be a good fit. "They're already doing feats that are superhuman to begin with," Quesada said of the performers. "There's so much mythology and lore with all of these characters - it's like going into this treasure chest of unbelievable gems," Feld CEO Kenneth Feld said. "There are almost unlimited stories and shows we can create off these properties and characters."
