New Max Steel Photos Released

Several new images from Max Steel, the upcoming film based on the Mattel line of action figures, have been released online (via Yahoo).

Direct Stewart Handler describes the film as being Friday Night Lights meets Marvel.

"It's very much designed to be grounded within the teen experience," says Hendler. "Besides, I'm a sucker for coming-of-age stories that [relate] how difficult it is to be a teenager."

Max Steel is an origin story thatstars Ben Winchell as Max McGrath, 16-year-old who suddenly begins generating massive energy bursts from his body. Max then meets a techno-organic alien name Steel, and the two form a symbiotic bond that keeps their individual energies under control.

"Neither of them can live without the other, and they drive each other crazy," Hendler explains. "But when they work together, they can actually be something cool."

Max steel is expected to be released in 2015.
