Smallville's Tom Welling Joins JFK Assassination Drama

star Tom Welling will join Zac Efron, Paul Giamatti and Billy Bob Thornton in an upcoming drama about the hours immediately following the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, reports Deadline. Due for distribution in the fall to coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of Kennedy's killing, the ensemble drama will be called Parkland, after the name of the hospital where the President was pronounced dead. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are producing with Bill Paxton. The film is based on Vincent Buhliosi's epic book, Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Peter Landesman is adapting the book and will direct.
