During Comic-Con, Sam Raimi (Evil Dead), the director of the first three Spider-Man films, was asked to share his thoughts on Marvel's upcoming reboot.

MTV's Josh Horowitz kicked things off by asking Raimi if he saw Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man films. "Oh yeah, I saw them both; they were great," Raimi told him.

Marvel's Spider-Man/Peter Parker will be played by 19-year-old actor Tom Holland (The Impossible). Marvel-Sony sought a young actor because they are taking the character back to high school, which is an aspect of the reboot that Raimi is "very excited" about.

"And I'm really glad Marvel is taking it to high school," Raimi stated. "I think that's going to be refreshing and just like my favorites of the Spider-Man comic books. And I have a lot of faith that they know their stuff."

He added, "The difficulty of going through high school is so unique to a superhero. It's unique and that's what Spider-Man is all about. So, that they're going to explore that head on is very exciting."

Listen to Raimi's comments in the video below.

Holland's Spider-Man/Peter Parker will make a cameo in Captain America: Civil War, which will arrive on May 6, 2016. He'll then star in the Jon Watts-directed solo Spider-Man movie to be released on July 28, 2017.
