According to Welcome to Twin Peaks, one of the most reliable sources for Twin Peaks information online, The X-Files star David Duchovny still hasn't ruled out a return to the Pacific Northwest.

Duchovny, who played cross-dressing DEA Agent Denise Bryson in the cult hit series, expressed interest in Twin Peaks back when it was still a rumor, and was one of the first original series cast members to kinda/sorta verify it was happening by saying that he believed as much.

You can see the (admittedly cryptic) post below:

“Stranger things have happened.”—David Duchovny last Saturday when asked if he'll be in the new Twin Peaks (hat tip to Murmur Films).

So...hardly a confirmation, but certainly an indication that he's still in the mix to return as Denise.

Twin Peaks's third season, more than two decades in the making, debuts on Showtime in 2017. According to various reports, it will be 18 episodes, all directed by David Lynch and written by series co-creators Lynch and Mark Frost.
