Last night's season finale of The X-Files was such a cliffhanger that, even more than you would already expect from a decades-old cult show on a revival tour, fans immediately started speculating about another return for the series.
According to series creator Chris Carter, it's a near certainty.
"They're going to ask for more," Carter told The Hollywood Reporter. "The ratings were very good. They were happy with the show. I talked to Dana Walden today. She said they'd very much like more, but nothing's being negotiated yet."
FOX has already said they'd like to do it, assuming they can make the schedule work with the principal cast. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have also said they'd be keen to revisit their most famous roles.
