Riverdale Casts Madelaine Petsch As Cheryl Blossom

Cheryl Blossom might sound sweet, but the Archie Comics character, at least in the form she's coming to The CW's Riverdale is anything but.

Deadline reports that Madelaine Petsch has been cast in the role, which they describe as "rich, entitled and never accountable. A manipulative mean girl who kills with kindness, she recently lost her twin brother in a mysterious accident."

That accident likely ties into the long-standing reports that Riverdale would be inspired by Twin Peaks: Spooky, subversive and willing to examine what lies beneath the town's seemingly-perfect facade.

Riverdale is expected to debut on The CW next fall from executive producer Greg Berlanti.
