Zack Snyder Confirms Bryan Cranston Was Considered For Lex Luthor

Ever since Batman V. Superman was announced, rumors began circulating that Emmy-winning actor Bryan Cranston was being considered for the role of Lex Luthor. Fans were thrilled by the reports as the Breaking Bad star had always been considered the perfect choice to play Superman's arch-nemesis. For his part, Cranston welcomed the fan enthusiasm and publicly expressed interest in the part. However, he did caution that Warner Brothers had neither met nor contacted him.

Even after Jesse Eisenberg landed the role in January 2014, Cranston maintained that he never had one conversation with WB. But in a new interview, Zack Snyder reveals that Cranston was one of several actors that the director met with for Luthor.

“We talked about the usual suspects that you would imagine; any actor who has been bald, probably,” Synder told EW. “Bryan Cranston would have been great, right? And by the way, he’s an amazing actor. Can you imagine how different the movie would be?”

Well he would have made a much better Lex Luthor imo, Jesse wasn't as bad as everyone thought he was gonna be and wasn't the worst thing in the movie, but Cranston would have owned it....

Damn, He's the PERFECT Jim Gordon dammit!

  1. I'm glad they didn't cast him. He would have just been Walter White playing Lex Luthor. Eisenberg was great. A awesome take on Luthor after Hackman and Spacy played him like a bumbling idiot.

I don't have a problem with the way Jesse Eisenberg Portrayed Lex Luthor in the film. I do, however, have a problem with the way Lex Luthor was written.
