When Arrow picks up in season 5, the characters will have been through a lot, and have to pick up the pieces of Star City after Darhk's reign. But first, the season finale of season 4 needs to air, and in it, there's a change not just for the Green Arrow, but for Oliver Queen.
"The public visage and version of Oliver Queen within Star City is something we really haven't touched on," Stephen Amell told Comicbook.com at the CW Upfronts. The actor said he hopes to explore that in season 5, and something next week should facilitate it. "I think that something happens in the season finale that will help change that!"
Meanwhile, the flashbacks in Season 5 will just wind up catching up to Season 1's start, meaning we'll see the Oliver from the start of the series once more. But he's changed, right? Maybe not as much as fans think.
"That'll be fun," Amell said of playing Season 1 Oliver again. "Maybe he'll lie in just complete juxtaposition to the Oliver that we see in season 5 in the present day, or maybe they'll start to line up together again, you never know. Things change!" he teased.
Arrow season 4 finale airs Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 8pm on The CW. Season 5 will continue to air Wednesdays this fall.
