When it comes to geekdom, there are few names as revered as Joss Whedon's. The filmmaker has helmed dozens of projects and brought fan-favorite series such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, and Angel to fans all over the world. And, now, Grant Gustin has admitted he thinks it'd be awesome if Whedon were able to direct an episode of CW's The Flash.

Speaking with press at San Diego Comic Con last weekend, Gustin was asked if there were any directors he'd like to have come on-set to direct an episode. "Yeah actually," he confessed. "I met Joss Whedon last night. Yeah, that'd be really cool. He was a really nice guy and he loves the show. He's seen every episode of the show."

Of course, Whedon is very familiar with directing comic book adaptations at this point. When it comes to the big screen, Whedon famously worked with Marvel Studios to bring The Avengers and The Avengers: Age of Ultron to life. And, for television, Whedon was involved with creating Marvel's Agents of SHIELD and even directed a few episodes of the prime-time series. So, maybe Whedon could be tempted to jump ship and turn a new leaf with DC Comics?

The Flash is also no strangers to guest directors as the series saw Kevin Smith takeover for a Season 2 episode. Smith, a well-known creator himself, won over The Flash's crew with his stellar vision. And, earlier this year, Warner Bros. confirmed Smith would be returning to The Flash to direct yet another episode for Season 3.

What do you guys think? Would any of you be interested in seeing what Whedon could bring to Central City?
