The Transformers are not only just a part of a certain generation's childhood but also a constant source of inspiration and joy. Of course, the Transformers film franchise has polarized purists, but there's always an alternative.

Good ole fan films.

The cosplay group known as the Arizona Autobots teamed up with music video director Lior Molcho (Sia, Alive) and brought together some good old-fashioned bot on bot action that captures the vibe of the original show quite well.

"These aren't store-bought," Molcho explains in the behind-the-scenes video. "They're not made in some Hollywood studio. They're just made out of their exacto knives and the EVA foam they got at Harbor Freight. You put them out in the sunlight and they gleam just like metal." You can also see the sheer amount of dedication the group has to making this as any film crew would with late nights and early morning shoots.

The video, which clocks in at just a shade over 13 minutes features a car chase, a shoot out, the original cartoon sequence segue, as well as music and sound effects from the show. It was shot in the scorching desert for the most part, which included an opening scene of Starscream going after Bumblebee with all the Decepticon smack talk older fans are used to. Check it out below.
