Pokemon Go: The Musical

The Key of Awesome, a YouTube comedy channel known for spoofing celebrities, pop-culture and the latest internet memes, has put together a hilarious musical sketch poking fun at the global craze for Pokémon Go.

In it, we see people's obsession with the smartphone game getting out of hand. Instead of proposing marriage, seeing Lin Manuel Miranda's last performance in Hamilton, or having a ménage à trois, people are choosing to skip out on the real-world to chase digital creatures.

The music and lyrics for "Pokémon Go THE MUSICAL!" were produced by Doug Larsen and Mark Douglas, who also directed it. The cast features Larsen as Proposal guy, Paige Grimard as Proposed to gal, Katie Hartman as Hamilton fan, Rachel Mann as Hamilton friend, Steve Conroy as Gym Guy, Natonia Monet as Gym Lady #1, Tenealle Farragher as Gym Lady #2, Karen Lesley-Lloyd as Dragonite Lady, Cara Alpert as Bad Driver, Matt Giudice as Evil Passenger, and Douglas as Dead Guy.
