Guardians of the Galaxy Director Doesn't Think Marvel Cinematic Universe and TV Universe Will Interact Soon

During a fan Q&A on his official facebook page, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 writer/director James Gunn gave some (mostly quick) answers to fans' burning questions. One fan asked if Gunn thought the Marvel TV characters - specifically the ones on Netflix (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist) would be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War, and Gunn is hesitant on the crossover.
"I don't think we're going to see much interactions between the Marvel TV universe and the MCU in the near future," Gunn wrote in response.
That's a more definitive response than anyone involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been inclined to give for the last several months, as the directors of Infinity War, the Russo brothers, have instead tried to dance around any character inclusion questions. Gunn didn't claim to have any inside knowledge of that film (which is still being written, as last reported), but did say he's read Thor 3, and sent the Russos and their writers his script for GOTG v2. He has "also read a lot of the recent Marvel scripts and given them notes," and the collaborative nature between the writers and directors of the MCU, under the direction of president Kevin Feige, has been well-documented.
Then again, as Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb loves to say, "It's all connected," so there could be something to bring the Netflix and MCU worlds together in a more significant way sooner or later.
