Star Wars: The Force Awakens VFX Breakdown Video Released

Here at ComicBook we don't just love movies, but we also have a genuine interest in learning exactly how our favorite films are made. Whether using practical effects, green screen, or piecing together a masterpiece using cutting-edge CGI, the entire creative process from the first draft to the final cut always carries a sense of wonderment for film fans. We often leave the theater after seeing a great film asking ourselves, "How did they do that?"

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, one of the most intricate films, managed to get every single detail correct, even down to the sprawling desert landscape of Jakku, Rey's living quarters inside of an old broken down AT-AT, and a spot on replication of the nostalgic Millennium Falcon.

We met new characters like Maz, Unkar Plutt, and beep boop BB-8, all which were developed starting with a blank page and ending with perfect facial expressions or welds in BB-8's case.

Pretty amazing, huh? No wonder why The Force Awakens was nominated for 5 Academy Awards for film editing, visual effects, sound editing, sound mixing and best original music. When we leave the theater, it's easy to forget just how much work goes on behind the scenes by extremely talented people.
