Last month, when the first official set photo of the main cast from Sony's Jumanji sequel was released, some people voiced outrage — without knowing any details about the characters or the film's plot — over Karen Gillan's skin-bearing outfit, which consists of short-shorts, a midriff-baring top, calf-high boots, and fingerless gloves. A day later, to try to quell concerns from Outrage Nation, Gillan tweeted that there is a good reason as to why her character is wearing child-sized clothes.

Since then, it has been revealed that Gillan, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black are actually avatars representing four teenagers — being played by Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, and Ser'Darius Blain — who are playing the Jumanji game in the real-world.

On Friday and Saturday, Gillan shared a new photo and video from the Hawaiian set. The image features Gillan posing with two of her stunt-double and all three of them are wearing the same "controversial" costume. As for the video, it has Gillan being her silly self.

It begins with a close-up shot of Gillan, lying on her back, shading her eyes, and looking directly into the camera. "Being an actress is super hard. Ugh," shes's say and then as the camera pulls back we see a whole team of people working on her hair and make-up and her stunt-double is using a small motorized fan to cool off the Guardians of the Galaxy star.

The cast features Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (San Andreas) as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Kevin Hart (Central Intelligence) as Moose Finbar, Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Ruby Roundhouse, and Jack Black (School of Rock) as Professor Shelly Oberon. It also includes Nick Jonas (Scream Queens), When The Game Stands Tall actor Ser'Darius Blain (playing Anthony "Fridge" Johnson), Madison Iseman (Wild For The Night), Rhys Darby (Flight of the Conchords), and Morgan Turner (Mildred Pierce).

Jumanji is being directed by Jake Kasdan. The script was written by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers and based on the Caldecott Medal-winning adventure book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg. The book was previously adapted into a feature film in 1995, starred Robin Williams, and grossed more than $260 million globally. Ted Field, Mike Weber, Kasdan, David Householter, Van Allsburg, Johnson and Dany Garcia are executive producing.

Jumanji will burst into theaters on July 28, 2017.
