Jimmy Fallon learned a valuable lesson on a recent episode of The Tonight Show. That lesson is to never challenge Felicity Jones to a fight, even if it's a fake one because she will take you down hard.
Jones, who plays Jyn Erso in this month's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, had to go through combat training for the part and demonstrated those skills against Fallon in an impromptu fight scene.
"I did a lot of Kung Fu. I had a wonderful teacher called Master Yu Lee, who was my Kung Fu teacher, and it was many hours of devotion and practice and doing it over and over again, and I wanted to make Jyn a badass."
Fallon gave her a fancy eskrima stick and took arms with a much less fancy laser gun and they choreographed a fight scene. You can't really blame Fallon for chickening out midway through, as a few times that stick whiffed by his head pretty convincingly. You can watch the full video above.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits US theaters December 16, 2016. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it's the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core "Skywalker Saga" of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue One tells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star. The story spins directly off the opening crawl from the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In that crawl, it read: "Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet."
