When making any sequel, the golden rule typically seems to be "bigger is better." If that's the case, then Guardians of the Galaxy should get eclipsed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. "Eclipsed" is the right word in this case, as the scope is increased by the number of planets they go to - not to mention a living planet being involved.

"It's as big, if not bigger than the first movie," Marvel President Kevin Feige told Comicbook.com on a set visit for the sequel. The galaxy expands with more planets, and Feige named a few - though those names are subject to change. "Sovereign is a planet, Bearheart is a planet; some of these names change, because they're not often referenced in dialogue, so it comes down to the location. We changed a lot of the names back and forth before we locked them in the first movie."

All told, they should visit "four or five" major locations, with another two or three "glimpses of other worlds" throughout Guardians Vol. 2. Of course, one of those will be alive, as Ego the Living Planet will be both a location and a character in the film. Kurt Russell plays Ego, who they referred to as "J-Son" on set, and is the father of Star-Lord, played by Chris Pratt. J-Son is the name of the character's father in the comics, but in the movie he'll be the living planet - yes, an actual planet that can move through space (and hopefully, like it does in the comics, has a giant face), creating himself a human body to see what it's like, as revealed in the footage they debuted last summer at San Diego Comic-Con.
