Did Vegeta Hint He's Ready To Go Ultra Instinct In 'Dragon Ball Super'?

Goku has managed to one-up Vegeta thanks to his latest form, but fans know it is only a matter of time until the latter gains the power. Ultra Instinct is proving to be one of Dragon Ball Super's most popular power-ups yet, so it only makes sense for Vegeta to reach for the technique. However, some fans think the Saiyan is much closer to the form than previously expected.

Dragon Ball Super aired its first battle featuring Goku and Jiren sometime ago, but fans are still dissecting the episode. During the fight, fans could watch as Universe 7 and the rest of the Tournament of Power's competitors reacted to Ultra Instinct Goku.

As fans may recall, Universe 7 was unsurprised that Goku did not lose outright to Jiren, but they were taken back by his new form. Tien commented on the technique's power, but Gohan and Android 18 made comments about how they could not keep up with Goku's new movements. Even Dyspo seemed to be blinded by Goku's unnatural moves, and the Universe 11 warrior prides himself on his speed.

However, when it came to Vegeta, the hero seemed more capable of tracking Goku in his Ultra Instinct form.

"I see it with my own eyes," Vegeta says, "yet his actions feel unreal."

The hero's line of dialogue has got fans speculating exactly how close Vegeta could be to unlocking Ultra Instinct. After all, Goku did start training to unlock the power with Whis with Vegeta at his side, so both of the Saiyans have been working to wield the power. As usual, it seems like Goku got a foot ahead of Vegeta in training, but Vegeta will be close behind him.

If fans want to predict Vegeta's progress towards Ultra Instinct, they can try to use the hero's past forms as guide. Back in Dragon Ball Z, it took Vegeta more than 30 episodes to go Super Saiyan after Goku unlocked the form against Freeza. While it seems unlikely Vegeta will go Ultra Instinct during the Tournament of Power, the Saiyan could very well unlock the power by the anime's next arc. And, when he does, fans can be sure that the hero will gloat about it for a bit.
