Anime fans and gaming enthusiasts, it is time to feast your eyes upon the latest announcement from IDW Publishing. The company, who is known for rolling out comics about preexisting series, is turning its eye to Japan. Not long ago, the publisher confirmed it would be taking the ever-popular Yo-Kai Watch series and adapting it into a serialized comic.

Starting in April, Yo-Kai Watch will become a comic series for readers of all ages to peruse. The first issue will be a 32-page behemoth with full-color pages and cost about $4. Eric M. Esquivel will be penning the series while Tina Franscicso illustrates. Dono Sanchez Almara will color the comic.

You can check out the comic's description below:

"The hit anime, manga and toy sensation from Japan comes to North American comics! Join Nate and his Yo-Kai, Whisper, as they battle against ill-intentioned Yo-Kai causing terrible trouble in their hometown!"

Of course, fans can read the original Yo-Kai Watch manga thanks to Viz Media. The company has licensed the foreign series under its Perfect Square imprint for English readers. In July, the manga's sixth volume was released, and the next will hit shelves in March.

In America, fans can also watch and play along with the buzzworthy franchise. The folks over at Disney XD brought the Yo-Kai Watch anime to the U.S. back in 2015, and its second season debuted last August. In October, the first Yo-Kai Watch movie made its debut in the U.S., and a slew of portable games have also made their entrance into the U.S. sphere.

If you are not familiar with Yo-Kai Watch, then you can catch up at your own pace. The series follows a young boy named Nate who is granted the ability to see small yo-kai or mischievous demons running amuck. Gifted with a special tool called a Yo-Kai Watch, Nate teams up with a few critters to ward off evil creatures who'd threaten his home.
