It’s here! A brand-new arc of Dragon Ball Super has started, and fans were gifted with a stunning opening theme to kick-off the arc. Thanks to Toei Animation, Dragon Ball Super has released its second opening theme since its debut in 2015, and fans are freaking out over the action-packed intro.
And, lucky for you, the energetic footage has found its way online.
The opening is called “Limit-Break x Survivor” and was performed by Kiyoshi Hikawa. Takafumi Iwasaki composed the track while franchise veteran Yukinojō Mori penned its lyrics. The new theme song will replace the original one produced by Kazuya Yoshii. The song “Chōzetsu ☆ Dynamic!” helped bring Dragon Ball Super to fans’ homes when the anime debuted in 2015, and now a new song will help the anime reach even further.
The new clip shows Goku fighting with one insanely powerful enemy while his fellow Universe 7 fighters take care of their own opponents. Of course, Zen-Oh can also be seen in the opening as both the present and future iterations of the character are the masterminds behind this arc’s dangerous story. The two will oversee a multiverse tournament where warriors fight to prove their strength and keep their homes from being annihilated.
High points of the trailer feature Gohan powering up after a training session with Piccolo. Fans are also impressed by the profile of Master Roshi entering the tournament. And, towards the end of the opening, fans can watch as Goku enters his Super Saiyan Blue state to fight. In the battle, Goku’s transformation then turns red and the hero can be seen looking somewhat unhinged. Audiences are already speculating about whether or not this new appearance may signal a new Super Saiyan state.
This weekend, Dragon Ball Super's story arc kicked off the ‘Universal Survival’ saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:
