We have some great news RWBY fans, as the franchise has released a trailer for the upcoming season. This will be season 5 of the popular anime, with fans eagerly awaiting its arrival. However, it isn't only fans who are excited for the upcoming season, with the production crew behind this saying that season 5 will be incredible.

In a recent interview with some of the Rooster Teeth crew at New York's Comic-Con, which includes Barbara Dunkleman, Miles Luna, Kerry Shawcross, Arryn Zech, Lindsay Jones, Kara Eberle and Grav G Haddock, gave an enormous amount of appraisal for their upcoming work.

"Volume 5 is like a whole 'nother level of this show," said Dunkleman. In addition, the panel unveiled that there will be a set of new characters that weren't seen in the previous volumes. However, the good news for RWBY fans only continues, as the series is set volume 5 even longer than the previous seasons.

"Last year we expanded the run time of the season a little bit. We did 12 about fifteen-minute episodes," Shawcross said.

"This year, we got the go-ahead, we have 14 episodes. Two extra episodes of RWBY this year."

That means there will be an additional 14 episodes added to the already existing 52, which the series has accumulated throughout the first four volumes. If you are unfamiliar with RWBY you still have plenty of time to catch up, with the upcoming season and the previous volumes being available on both Crunchyroll, Netflix and YouTube, with Volume 5 tipped to be the best the series has had since it made its debut in 2013. The series' success has in recent times also inspired a spin-off video game called RWBY: Grimm Eclipse, as well as another spin-off series called RWBY Chibi, which were both released in 2016.
